Class 1- Let the Games Begin!
(Tuesday, March 29, 7:00 pm)
WINE games that is (and no we are not talking about SPIN-THE-BOTTLE). We’ll start the beginning of this trek with loads of  FUN! We’ll learn about the wines we love while partaking in a bit of competition…Wine Trivia, Becoming a World-class Wine Writer, and The Price is Right just to name a few. However, we know the athlete must reenergize and Gatorade just won’t do for this kind of sport. While we play, we’ll taste and discuss various wines throughout the evening that will take you from California to Australia. So put your game face on and come ready to WIN! $45 class fee includes tastings.


Class 2 - The Great White Hype! 
A glance at some of our wondrous white wines.

Let’s travel the world in white…white wine that is. Let’s take a different look at some well-known varietals from some popular wine regions and discover the hype behind these wonderful whites.

Learn the basic mechanics of wine tasting while you learn the answers to key questions about our popular white varietals. Is there a difference between Pinot Gris and Pinot Grigio? Can you distinguish a Chardonnay made in the Golden State from a Chardonnay made by the Aussies? Are all Rieslings supposed to taste sweet? We will discuss these questions and more during our voyage, so get ready for an amazing ride. We will do our best to have you home on time!   $45.00 class fee includes tastings.

Class 3 - WHITE DIAMONDS:
The hidden treasures of white wine!
(Wednesday, April 13th, 7:00 pm **Winemaker Day**)
Ahoy matey! There is buried treasure out there and we’re just the crew to find it! Let’s take a journey from France to Australia with a leisurely sojourn in South Africa and Spain and discover some not so well-known yet greatly appreciated varietals. From Airen and Albariño to Melon de Bourgogne and Macabeo the world is our oyster. We’ll travel to Portugal so you can taste a Vinho Verde that is lean and very green and I promise you’ll find out what in the world is Steen? When we are done you just might be shouting the praises of Marsanne or Rousanne. SO EVERYONE, climb aboard ship and take a voyage that Capt. Jack Sparrow would never pass up. The treasures are out there just for YOU to find!

Class 4- See the world in RED! 
A look at some remarkable red wines!

Some think red wines are an enigma.  Others think it's the answer to heart disease.  It's been described as bold, yet restrained, spicy yet subtle.  What in the world does that mean?  The remarkable world of red wines is filled with these types of comparisons and contrasts that you've got to taste to believe.  Yet, we will shed some light on some of this lingo as we sail the globe seeing red!  We will compare the Cabs from Napa and Pinot from Oregon to the Bordeaux and Burgundy wines of France. Taste a bit of Tuscany as we try some award-winning Chianti and chime into the praise of Chilean Merlot.   We’ll take some time to deliberate over a distinguished Shiraz from Australia. Then we’ll stop to enjoy the sunsets of the Golden Coast with some California Zinfandel. Sound tantalizing? Of course it does and so it will be! This trip sells out quickly so purchase your ticket early and make sure you’re on board!

Class 5 – RED RUBIES:
The secret jewels  of red wine
(Tuesday, April 26 at 7:00 pm)

The sea of red wine is vast and voluminous and it would take a few lifetimes to swim through it all.  But...for the true wine lover, you really can't help but try! You‘ll discover Gamay Beaujolais and why the South Africans pride their Pinotage. Come be enticed by a beautiful Barbera and enjoy a light-hearted Garnacha (Garwhatta?) from Spain. You’ll find the only thing small about Petit Verdot or Petit Sirah is the available quantity. So come and taste Tempranillo! Savor Primativo!  And maybe even sigh, “Ahh Aglianico”. There are so many places this vino voyage will take us and you definitely won’t want to miss out.   $45 class fee includes tastings.

Class 6  - Sweets and stars forever! 
A glimpse at sparkling, dessert and fortified wines.

Break out the bubbly!  Or would you care for a bit of Sherry?  No, this auspicious occasion deserves nothing but a vintage port!  Can you even afford a vintage port?  Don't worry, there is a variety of port to choose from as well as a variety of occasions to sample these beauties-namely any time!  There are always questions surrounding these "specialty wines" and it's about time you got some answers.  Can you buy Champagne from California?  Who really drinks Sherry?  And what is white port?  We will answer these questions as we taste our way around the world.  So...come ready to celebrate....YOU!  $45.00 class fee includes tastings.
